New Pattern: Millefleur Satchel

Boho needlepoint satchel with geometric repeat pattern by Bobbin and Fred

Do you enjoy finding ways to wear your needlepoint as much as I do? The Millefleur Satchel came about because I was looking at how I could accessorise my outfits with hand stitch so I could carry a piece of my passion with me wherever I go, and now you can too!

I’ve teamed mine with a chunky jumper, casual skirt, leggings and ankle boots for the kind of preppy boho look I favour. This cute satchel is the perfect size for your purse, keys, and phone, and even some little extras...lipstick comes to mind.

What's more, it’s entirely handsewn. And, even better, it’s easy to stitch!

Frame Busting Your Cross Stitch

Cross stitch cushion with snowflake and lettered design

It’s been an exciting week so I’m going to do a brief newsy roundup and then chat about getting out of my colour rut...surely I’m not alone in choosing the same colours again and again? After that I'm going to look at breaking cross stitch out of the frame and moving it back into contemporary interiors.

Year of the Blog

Hello and Happy New Year from me, Bobbin and Fred!

I hope you all had a fab time over the holidays. We munched and giggled our way through the holiday season, rocked around the Christmas tree and pretended to be Cats after watching the musical on DVD for the first time. We won’t make it to the stage but we

Embroidered Necklace, Earrings and Bracelet by Bobbin and Fred

This is my Belle Jewellery Set. Looking at it you may not imagine it began life as a rather shabby set of sketches in my 99p pad. To look at it now all you see is it looking gorgeous and polished (toot toot) having just been published as a tutorial in May/June's issue of Needlepoint Now, complete with a

A Cracking Easter

It's a belated Happy Easter from me, Bobbin and Fred. We may be a little late to the party but we thought we'd pop on our bunny ears for an Easter Roundup!

Instead of chocolate eggs we had an Easter Chocolate Cheesecake...it was velvety smooth and melted in the mouth so quickly that we snaffled it up before I got a picture but I did take one of our first Easter tree, complete with lambs, chicks and bunnies.

Easter Tree Decoration Idea

I made the giant bright tissue paper flowers at the base of the tree by following this really easy YouTube tutorial, How to Make Giant Tissue Paper Flowers. They're really fast and fun to make and I love the pop of colour they add to the table.

Despite all the chocolatey goodness the best treat this Easter was
